In the report, Aberdeen’s BI Research Analyst Michael Lock details how best-in-class SMB’s are already realizing five actionable benefits from their wider use and adoption of business intelligence.

Highlights include:

• 99 percent of best-in-class companies deliver BI to the workforce in a self-service, non IT-assisted capacity, compared with only 6 percent of “laggard” SMBs.
• Best-in-class companies achieved a 4 percent year-after-year reduction in the cost-per-user of BI applications compared with a 7.4 percent decrease for “laggards.”
• Best-in-class companies drove an average 29 percent year-after-year growth in operating profit, more than five times the increase of all other SMBs.
• Best-in-class companies were able to deploy their BI applications in an average 14 days compared with 241 days for “laggard” SMBs.
  Best-in-class companies achieved an average 27 percent year-after-year increase in organic revenue compared with a 17 percent decrease for “laggard” SMBs.
